Posted 4/20/2010 - Creek Wood High School is looking for a Percussion Program Director for the 2010/2011 school year.
This individual will need to be available for two weeks of camp in July, daily percussion classes during school, and after school rehearsals throughout the year. Also, this person will be responsible for arranging percussion parts for the Winter Percussion Ensemble.

Bands commissioning project for Dr. Donald
Grantham
The Whitthorne Middle School Bands are sponsoring a commissioning project
to have Dr. Donald Grantham from the University of Texas at Austin compose
a piece for grade 3 level ensembles. The cost of being in the consortium
is $200 per school. To participate in this exciting endeavor please notify

Mozart Clarinet Concerto released
Roncorp Publications has released the clarinet
duet version of the complete Mozart Clarinet
Concerto arranged by Christopher Zello. It can
be purchased online at
www.TheMusicMentor.com or
through music retail stores.
In this arrangement, two clarinetists alternate
the melody line and the accompaniment. The solo
clarinet part remains intact, while the second
clarinet plays the accompaniment. When the solo
clarinet usually had rests in the tutti
sections, that part now has the accompaniment;
meanwhile the second part is given the melody.
This arrangement creates a good balance of
playing between the parts, although the second
clarinet part is more difficult than the first.
