UIL Sight-Reading Criteria for Band and Orchestra

"By Richard Floyd
Music Director

Appropriate music is essential for the success of the band, choral and orchestra contest. To help assure that the music selected provides a realistic challenge at each conference level, the following guidelines have been established. While it may not be possible to totally adhere to these guidelines on all music selected, it is recommended that each sight-reading committee approve compositions that as nearly as possible conform to the parameters provided. " (Excerpt from the University Interscholastic League's Sight-Reading Criteria page)
